Matthew’s journey began with a love for the outdoors and an inherent enjoyment of physical activity. After relocating from Victoria at the age of 5, he quickly developed a passion for engaging in various sports, such as AFL, tennis, athletics, surf lifesaving and golf. His delight in participating in sports alongside friends and the sense of accomplishment from reaching specific goals naturally evolved into a deep curiosity about human physiology. This curiosity ultimately guided him towards a fulfilling career as an accredited exercise physiologist.
After completing his diploma of fitness, Matthew wanted to further his knowledge in human biomechanics and working with individuals to optimise their health. This initially inspired Matthew to become a physiotherapist, but through his journey at university led him to the
captivating world of exercise physiology, where he found his true calling and embarked on a rewarding career in this allied health profession.
Matthew takes pleasure in collaborating with diverse individuals and addressing their unique health concerns while forging meaningful connections to aid them on their wellness journey. He prioritises individualise care over solely focusing on conditions, and he is dedicated to guiding individuals throughout their treatment and recovery. Matthew is the driving force behind our Canungra clinics Squad Atkins program, where he find fulfilment in fostering a sense of community among clients as they pursue their personalised health objectives.
